Now we are here
Susan/Circle:
Somebody's looking really comfortable in the big leagues.
Tara:
And how about his defense? That play he made in the 8th to get the force on Adams on that bouncing Cruz groundah into the hole?
Susan/Circle:
Yeah, they call it Xanderdu.
Tara:
Open your eyes and see
What we have made is real
We are in Xanderdu.
Susan/Circle:
And there you are.
Xanerdu,wasn't that a John Travolta-Olivia Newton-John movie??? ;O

In Xanderdu did Kubla Khan / A stately pleasure-dome decree.
(The opening of Citizen Bogaerts.)
And all who pitch should see him there,
And all should cry, Beware! Beware!
His flashing eyes, his floating hair!
Weave a circle round him thrice,
And close your eyes with holy dread
For he on honey-dew hath fed,
And drunk the milk of Paradise.

Xanderdu
Fenway's lights will shine
For you, Xanderdu

To capture the full mystique of Kubla Khan, you need to read it in Papiamento.

The drawback for Agent X will be getting him to work an at bat like Youk before his back degenerated to a point where mine has been for a while.
But, Xander (Humphrey) Bogaerts, is going to score on a shallow wall ball a few times in the Back Bay Fens.
Stay creepy, my friends.

Xanadu, the film that effectively put ELO in the disco racks, and Jeff Lynne in front of mixing boards, where he served his penance for that '70's dreck.

Hey, Friday -- welcome back!

If you came of age in the 70s, then you'll agree with me that Olivia Newton John is at her absolute peak of the hawtness in this Xanadu video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7m1UWSD-FaA

Oh I so loved Olivia Newton-John, even wrote her a fawning fan letter with a buddy at age 11 or 12. Love that Xanadu video. Thanks for the Friday strip and that link, hb!

No argument from me about Olivia. If I come across Xanadu on TV (almost always on TBS) I'm pretty much compelled to stop and watch.

This is the first album cover I remember actually stopping me in my tracks as a lad.

www.strikeout.co if you are interested in watching the game. ('co' not 'com')

Xander, don't Bogaert those hits. You either, Na-poley. Let's spread 'em out. 2-3 each. Every game. Team average of around .375. (Hey, it's as realistic as going from worst to first.)
Have a great weekend all. Hopefully we'll have something fun to yak about on Monday.
