Releasing 2 seasons worth of pent up frustration

Mike:
I'd like to staht by expressing the single sentiment which I believe we all share...

Al:
How about Bogaerts with perhaps the most bizarre line evah:

AB R H RBI
0 2 0 0

Mike:
And winning on a wild pitch and an infield hit... does it get bettah than this?

Doug:
And I know we're supposed to feel some sort of great respect for Tampa playing blah blah elimination games in a blah blah row and it finally blah blah catching up to them despite their so-called "fight" and "haht" and whatevah insipid adjectives the media wants to showah upon them, but I'm here to say Fuck the Motherfucking Rays to Hell. OK?

Al:
Seriously. They are a middling team with a middling season punctuated by a brief streak against a couple clubs who were even more middling.

Mike:
As the Tuna used to say, "You are what you are."

Al:
And the Rays are going home. And Maddon can come to Boston tomorrow, and I'll personally show him around.

Doug:
Yeah, take him to the Gardenah museum and show him The Rape of Europa and say, "See, we all get what we deserve."

She forgot the safe word.

Rays' bow and arrow silenced

Good times.

Maddon is a great manager and I hate him.

The rays... Whatev.

Rays fans... Where the fyck were they for the first 163?

Bring on the A'ssTigers!

There is no place for poms poms in baseball. Evah.

That game about killed me last night. I just knew they were going to lose 1-0 with 15 running LOB. I'm quite happy to be wrong.

Who are we rooting for tomorrow night, Oakland or Detroit? I feel like Oakland is the better match up - but West Coast playoff games? Ugh.

1 Peavy >> 8 muddling pitching changes. Undersung, Jake.

A cigar store Indian will trump poms-poms every time. It's not even a fair fight.

Even if they weren't playing the Sox I would have had to root for the Rays to lose after seeing Dick Vitale in TB gear.

Boy, Maddon was sure determined to manage the shit out of that game, huh? I haven't seen a manager become that much the focus of a game since Bobby Valentine (yeah, unfair because there was some evil genius to Maddon's methods, but still that was a PAINFUL game to watch). I think my brother and I made fewer pitching moves in our Micro League baseball games in the 80s. Still, victory is sweet and I am glad to have three days to recover from the spike to my blood pressure.... Bring on the ALCS!

How about a shout out for Craig Breslow. Let's not forget him.

A spike to blood pressure indeed. I had to turn off the game when the Rays were batting in the bottom of the 7th and 8th, because I couldn't take the pressure. I felt like COD, that we'd lose with all those scoring opportunities haunting us.

Even though I don't like the idea of a coastal ALCS, the A's lineup doesn't scare me as much as Detroit's. Hell, the A's lineup is a bunch of Red Sox cast-offs.

Craig Breslow,smartest man in baseball-hell yeah!! Oh,and Maddon-What's 2Q+2Q ?? ;O

tra-la. apologies to Brian May. Freddie needs none

When he's down Price walks quietly off the mound,
with his brim pulled way down low
Ain't no sound but Eva’s bleats,
Papi’s hit it in the seventeeth row.
Are you ready, Are you ready for this?
Are you hangin’ on the edge of your seat?
Out of the bullpen, Koji K’s the Rays
To the abyss of defeat.

[Rayzz, Rayzz, Rayzz(imperceptible beat)]

Another club bites the dust

[Rayzz, Rayzz, Rayzz(imperceptible beat)]

Another club bites the dust
And another club gone, and another dream done
Another club bites the dust
Hey, they’re gonna get you too
Another club bites the dust

How do you think the Red Sox win
Running, glove or bat?
They took everything that you had to dish
and then they shat in your hat

Hey losers, get your stuff and leave
You couldn’t stand the heat
Don’t let the door hit your butt
You coughed up defeat

[Rayzz, Rayzz, Rayzz(imperceptible beat)]

Another club bites the dust

[Rayzz, Rayzz, Rayzz(imperceptible beat)]

Another club bites the dust
And another club gone, and another dream done
Another club bites the dust
Hey, they’re gonna get you too
Another club bites the dust

Another club bites the dust
Another club bites the dust
Another club bites the dust
Another club bites the dust
There are plenty of ways you can beat a team
And bring them to the ground
You can beat ‘em
You can cheat ‘em
You can walk the ballpahk and run

But I'm Bogaerts, yes I'm Papi and Ells
I’m Pedey waiting to lase
Out of the box the baseballs fly
repeating the sound of defeat

lc

Even better, that would work for the A's as well.

yay.

ocho.

The only person I felt could have turned around that game for the Rays ended up standing in the bullpen warming up to end the game while everyone else and their mothers was called in to pitch instead...ending it all with Fernando "Crips Hat" "I'm not even supposed to BE here today!" Rodney frumping about on the mound instead.

Works for me. I don't get to use my Game 5 ALDS tickets now (you want them, Maddon?). But I've already bought my ALCS ticket replacement for Game 1 on Saturday.

PS -- Keep your eyes open here in the comments at Soxaholix on Friday in case I have 1 or 2 tickets available at the last minute depending on how all the puzzle pieces come together for my friends this weekend.

LC's been playing with Mercury.

Nicely done, surly but lovable.

I wonder if he might BE Freddy Mercury. Do we have any photos of them together?
Is this part of a vast conspiracy?
Is this why I now must share quality liver snaps?

My boss is tripping on home enhanced catnip. Oh, well who am I to say anything about that. Time for another cold one...

Wow...the surly but loveable one is the songwriter laureate of the Soxaholix (as opposed to Leaping Lanny Poffo, the Poet Laureate of the WWF, but I digress)...Well done LC!...But HB, you took the words out of my mouth: Fuck the Motherfucking Rays to Hell!
