I just hope this isn't another Larry Anderson for Jeff Bagwell type of deal. Igelsias has been touted as the shortstop of the future for years now, and Peavy has already been traded a few times. Time will tell I guess.

Iglesias? I was drifting off to sleep when I heard something about a trade, Peavy, and Sox. Now I know. Not pleased about shipping out young SS/ 3rd baseman for Peavy. Yeah, you always need more pitching, but for once it would be nice to be stability at SS for more than a year.

Maybe the RedSox didn't think Igelsias's hitting was for real and bound to return to .240?

Great trade. Iglesias was mean-reverting with a vengeance. A guy who can't walk and thrives on infield hits isn't going to age well.

As for Peavy: yeah, we have a shot at the playoffs this year, so load up with arms.

Got another SS almost ready to go and a couple of more behind him. Iggy is a great fielder but his BA is an illusion. Peavy staying healthy is a big if but if it works out he's a huge asset.
