Well, here we are.
In a group of Soxaholix, a woman speaks:
Another Friday with a record below .500 and consequently a nice day off for Brachen.
In a group of Soxaholix, a woman speaks:
I guess if we want creepy clip art will have to turn to the Barack Obama campaign.
In a group of Soxaholix, a woman speaks:
Oh, and by the way, I'll be taking the afternoon off to to volunteer at a community garden.
In a group of Soxaholix, a woman speaks:
Deal with it, bitches.
.458 is just a few drinks away from looking like .854!
.854 would be slightly over a 138-24 record, which not even the Denial Cruiser expects.
On other news, holy crap, Mariano.

And down goes Rivera! Down goes Rivera! But seriously, that does suck, but we'll all hold him dear for 2004

My schadenfreude is all bipolar today. Suck it, MFY fans. But Mariano hisself? You gotta respect the man. It will be fascinating to see how driven he is to come back, better than ever, which is a pretty scary thought

Yeah, I don't hate Rivera at all. But the reaction from Skankee fans is so over-the-top, it's a national treasure of schadenfreude.

Good thing they've got Joba in the wings to take over. Oh, wait...

Good night, sweet prince, you fruitbat of all fruitbats. Parting is such sweet sorrow.

Nothing says old age like blowing out an ACL shagging fly balls.Fruitbat,we hardly knew ye ;O

Now if he were stately, plump Buck Mulligan...

Hard to feel sorry for the mfy fans when we have 11 players on the DL, but MO is a sure fire hall of famer that the game will miss.
Posted by: Steve in MD | 2012.05.04 at 10:06 AM
It will be a damn shame if this is how his career ends. If it is though, I sure won't miss seeing that damn cutter busting our bats any more.

Shades of Mickey Mantle for the Fruitbat. I wonder if Mariano ever had any other Mickey-like experiences?
Posted by: yazbread | 2012.05.04 at 10:22 AM
Yaz. Funniest fucking link in a long time. Thanks!
Posted by: Scott | 2012.05.04 at 10:46 AM
My respect for Mickey Mantle just skyrocketed. Yaz, that was awesome.
Feel bad for Mo if this is how an illustrious career ends, but I, too, won't miss that fucking cutter making a guest appearance in the ninth. One hell of a competitor. One hell of a nemesis.

That Yaz quote reminds me that having sex somewhere at Fenway is definitely on my bucket list.
Count me squarely in Buck's camp when it comes to Mariano. I respect the hell out of him, he's a warrior, a class act and a helluva ballplayer- tough to see him go out like that (for good?). Then again, the gnashing and wailing by Yanks fans makes my tiny shriveled, blackened heart soar.

Can we sign him up as the Tour Guide when our bus hits NYC ??
Posted by: Harwich Rich | 2012.05.04 at 12:04 PM
yeah, sorry Mo and all that. screw you yanks go cry in your basement.
anyway - just realizing that both guys in these panels are gawking at the ladies' tits...never knew clip art could be so realistic. the guy in the maroon jacket is even twisting a bit to get a better look.

Meanwhile the other woman is looking straight ahead and averting her gaze, because ...

Mo's operation entry song..."Enter Shagman"
Posted by: w8r | 2012.05.04 at 03:48 PM
Well, it's about time for me to go act like an all-American boy. Have a great weekend all. Hopefully we'll have something fun to yak about on Monday.

Adam Yauch (aka MCA) has passed away.
Posted by: Bob | 2012.05.04 at 04:50 PM
Buckner was framed (and he was) you now have me wondering how to say: "my schadenfreude is fucked up" in German. What a column!! Terrific new respect for Mickey;even more for Natalie's addition to her bucket list ("senior"creepy comment) and Mario? That's why Sox fans are the greatest. No one hates the Skanks more than me (since '53)...but we appreciate greatness...hope this isn't his Waterloo.

The weather! Once the weather clears up, the team will also pick up!
I'm off to rearrange some deck chairs.

5 of 46 with RISP over the last 5 games? WTF? It's like some anti-sports MIT geek is shining a UV laser in our batter's eyes when we have runners on base, causing them not to see the ball. For a Sox fan living outside Baltimore, this is down right embarrassing...
