Bard not pleasing the groundlings
Al:
I nevah expected Bard to be the second coming the Messiah, and by Messiah I mean, of course, vintage Pedro Martinez, and, consequently, there's nevah been any Bard love fest among us...
Al:
Yet we'd all been kinda sorta feeling OK about him.
Al:
But the guy on the hill the last two times out was wearing his jersey, isn't the same kinda sorta OK guy.
Doug:
The urgency here is that we need an effective Bard to get to the postseason and/or very deep into it.
Al:
Is it mechanics? Is it injury?
Mike:
When I look at Bard what I see is a classic example of a regression to the mean.
Mike:
And at the worst of all possible times.
Al:
Well, it's appropriate, then, that you're about to witness a classic example of what I like to call "Al's transgression to the whisky canteen."
There's only one explanation for Bard's performance lately: zombie bite.

The Bard has no muse!!!

Actually, this just feels like old times (pre-pink hat era old times, character building old times, shitty old times)

He says it is mechanical and that he can fix it. Hope he is right. They already have one Albers in the pen.

Could be worse. He could be Joba.

My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it.

Ponch, maybe you've hit on the answer: is Bard hanging out with Joba's mom?

Bard, Muse, chuckle.
Hey, if Bard needs a hot baseball wife muse maybe Juliana is available now.

h.b., it's actually the last THREE tims out that Bard's stunk up the joint. But who's counting.
And on the day that Lackey actually surrenders only 2 runs in 5+ innings. What are the odds?

With their eyes firmly locked on their upcoming contract negotiation, Paps and Mo are probably putting some type of hex on Bard.

Something's wrong. An injury? A mind melt down? I don't know if he needs a psych couch or an MRI, but he needs something. Fast.

What he needs is a Baseball Annie.Does anybody know if Susan Sarandon is still around?? lol

It's wet, getting colder, Tito started emptying the bullpen in the 4th, and we are turning Hellickson into a demi-god. WTF?

sox season in a nutshell: beautiful gold-bound -smelling-of-rich-mahogany baseball bookended by two months of incredibly frustrating-sh*t-baseball.

Sox can go (at worst) 9-5, Rays need to go 11-3 to tie. Is my math correct or too many Sams? As bad as it has been... we are still in.
