Being inclined
Doug:
OK, so this ESPN promo made me chuckle.
Bill:
The best paht is that the spot acknowledges that not everyone finds the whole Sweet Caroline thing an endearing piece of whimsy.
Doug:
Yeah, anti-Carolinite dudes like louclinton should feel a certain sense of vindication.
Bill:
Well, "vindication" might be a little strong...
Bill:
But if the dude had closed it out with a "rent a sunset, bitches" now that would do it.
Made my day, hb.

I'd like the song a lot better if they played the Gimmes version.

I'm happy that I'll be able to watch the home opener tv here in TN, but having to listen to the bleeding Joe Morgan might drive me to ram a pen through each ear drum during the telecast.

How the hell does HB remember a single comment from 2006? I can't remember what posted as a Facebook update yesterday.

This strip makes me want to feed the ducks. Feed the ducks some sweet, sweet wasabi peas.

the whole strip today, links to the ad, links to the past, was an endearing piece of whimsy. puts a smile on my face.

Today's strip so brightened an otherwise dreary, rainy day. Thanks, h.b.
Anybody else impressed that Clay has a pretty decent set of pipes? Hope he's as on-key with his pitching this year. Pretty sweet all the way around.
lc - we're not worthy.

Bob: I can tolerate Elvis's version.
Madraider, I'm at the gym riding the bike this week during the Braves/Mets ST game and Joe Morgan was so disjointed during one inning that I suspect he's now in on the joke and is parodying himself. But he detests that ESPN put another analyst in the booth, that much is clear.
I miss the way rotund Jon Miller utilized a Fenster-from-the-Usual-Suspects pronunciation on "Rudy Seanez."
If I ever meet my hero louclinton, my bow will be somewhere between Saudi King and Japanese Prime Minister on the Obama scale.

Some years ago one of the songs in the rotation for a Phish show was an ode to Jon Fishman's life size blow up doll friend...
Cracklin' Rosie.
"Oh, I love my Rosie child
You got the way to make me happy
You and me, we go in style
Cracklin' Rosie, you're a store-bought woman
You make me sing like a guitar hummin'
So hang on to me, girl
Our song keeps runnin' on
Play it now
Play it now
Play it now, my baby
Cracklin' Rosie, make me a smile
God if it lasts for an hour, that's all right
We got all night
To set the world right
Find us a dream that don't asks no questions, yeah"
(if this posted twice it is because of brain fry - the fact that I make this comment indicates the same)
