For lack of a title
Al:
Geez, talk about your Union City Blues. If the New Jersey government has their way, getting a professional hahdwood floor job is going to be a lot toughah.
Mike:
Perfect. In the midst of a global economic crisis, the government has nothing better to do than worry about Brazilian waxing?
Doug:
Wait, this surprises you?
Doug:
C'mon, it's like Alexis de Tocqueville predicted —"The nature of despotic power in democratic ages is not to be fierce or cruel, but minute and meddling."
Al:
Speaking of minute and meddling, thanks for nothing Bug Selig. Your little farce to pretend that baseball is international possibly means we are opening the season without our stahting 2nd baseman and AL MVP.
Mike:
They're now saying that it's only an ab strain and not anything to worry about.
Doug:
Let's hope so. El Caballito is more and more the soul of the team.
Mike:
You seen the PlayStation commercial? Too funny.
Al:
Yeah, and the fact that Pedroia is willing to take the ribbing shows just the kind of class act he is.
and we are all about being a class act, aren't we.

I don't think this ban is going to change a thing in New Jersey. Those chewbaccas don't do genital waxing anyway.
Not that I'd know. Just heard.

Seriously, El Cabalito? NO ONE BUT JOE BUCK calls him that.
Posted by: fujoebuck | 2009.03.16 at 09:46 AM
Ah, frig. There goes my secret identity.
I AM JOE BUCK!

No, I AM JOE BUCK!
Sorry, I thought we were having a Spartacus Moment.
Whatever happened to Pedroia is still better than whatever's going on with A-Rod. Wierd that our rent-a-wreck pick-ups seem to be progressing pretty smoothly but Lugo and Pedroia are the ones going DL a little early.

For Lack of a Better Title.. How about "Slip Slidin'... Away"?
Next part - The Orange Grove Theory - any society that is going so well that they have time to relax and plant orange groves is henceforth doomed (heard that on The Art of Spain last night regarding the demise of moorish rule in spain)
While I have defended the WBC a few times in this site, I have to say when the thing that makes an African American player named Jansen Dutch is that you pronounce his name Yonsen, the whole thing just loses whatever integrity it was trying to claim. and it hurt Pedrioa.

OK, I just came across this. I miss Batshit.
"Why did I sign with the Nationals?" Tavarez said on Sunday. "When you go to a club at 4 in the morning, and you're just waiting, waiting, a 600-pounder looks like J-Lo. And to me this is Jennifer Lopez right here. It's 4 in the morning. Too much to drink. So, Nationals: Jennifer Lopez to me."

I miss the way he would roll the ball to 1st.

Joe, nice site you have here. And, I think we can both wish Justin Pedroia a speedy recovery.

not that it really matters, but wasn't it Chip Carey and not Joe Buck?, so I guess your identity is still safe there, hb. And how perfect is it that the salon owner in the waxing story is from Cherry Hill? Finally, props to Youk for essentially telling Papi STFU about not having Manny in the lineup anymore- this team will hit
I'm worried about the Bruins

Seriously,Buck :((
Posted by: Harwich Rich | 2009.03.16 at 12:47 PM
They are a young team-I think we got spoiled early on.
Posted by: Harwich Rich | 2009.03.16 at 12:52 PM
The Bruins will return to form in time for the playoffs. Let them get the stupids shaken out now.

that commercial with pedroia is hysterical. i'm really impressed with his delivery - a lot of baseball players are kind of wooden when it comes to stuff like that - his polishing the mvp trophy schtick was very well done. i love the pic on the cover of the game as well, with pedroia at the tail end of his gargantuan swing that more and more looks like the very force of it will cause him to fly apart at the joints.
well done pedie!

One of the tea flavors at my firm is "African Red Bush". I'm a little hesitant to try it...

There's only two things I hate in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures, and the Dutch.
Posted by: Bob | 2009.03.16 at 04:58 PM
Great observation Bob. Any news on a date?
Posted by: soxdownunder | 2009.03.17 at 03:43 AM
If the Fenway summer concert isn't on September 6, it'll be September 6.
Still waiting on the word though.
Posted by: Bob | 2009.03.17 at 08:57 AM
I think I read that the dates are in May for the concert. Can't remeber the lame artist though. DMB is thre strongest rumor. Also Jonas Brothers (not as joke, although it should be)
Posted by: waitwhat | 2009.03.17 at 09:11 AM
Yeah, DMB is performing in May, but Fenway's also having a summer concert. That's what's screwing up verification of the date.
