Space balls

What does Pedroia stand for? Authenticity. Sincerity.

Yeah, that's a nice piece on Pedey.

Though I had an honest to god guffaw at the "immeasureable intangibles" that he brings line.

That's what this this team needs: a shitload more guys with immeasureable intangibles.

Yeah, somebody get Carmine right on that.

Heh, the day after Cherington asks Carmine to find playahs with immeasureable intangibles he shows up at work, swipes his key guard and gets a red light flashing "DENIED." He swipes it again, and still, "DENIED."

He punches the intercom button and says, "Carmine, open the Yawkey Way doors."

Carmine responds, "I'm sorry, Ben, but I can't do that."

Then Ben waited, marshalling his thoughts and brooding over his still untested powers. For though he was master of the Red Sox, he was not quite sure what to do next. But he would think of something.

Fewer than 30 days til pitchers and catchers, people. Prepare ship for ludicrous speed!

Speaking of Mel Brooks, I read that he is thinking of turning Blazing Saddles into a Broadway musical? Can I just say, hell yes! "He conquered fear, and he conquered hate, / He turned dark night into day, / He made his blazing saddle / A torch to light the way!"

We've gone PLAID!!!
Spaceballs is very under rated and over rated all at the same time. Sounds like a team we waste our time on.
Without Harvey Korman and Slim Pickens for Evil and Madeline Kahn for a little piece of tail, Alex Karras at DT, er... as Mongo, the true brain of the farce. I gotta dig that one out and watch it, but I have only about six shots left of my holiday UK Walker Black, and I also have to download Spaceballs.;0 gotta LMMFAO!

Give me Young Frankenstein, hands down

Fielding a team of nine players with Pedroia's attitude and commitment would be Red Sox nirvana. I love the guy.

Young Frankenstein is #2 in the Pantheon. Spaceballs? Meh...

"My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives." It's hard to beat Harvey Korman as Hedley Lamarr. Blazing Saddles FTW.

Suppose Carmine could figure out where to find a couple pitchers with "Balls the size of Saturn"(TM)?

I think Young Frankenstein has aged much better than Blazing Saddles.

Ben: Carmine...
Carmine: I've just picked up a fault in the (FM25) unit. It's going to go to 100% failure in 72 (Games).
It can only be attributtable to human error.
Ben: Hello, (Carmine)Do you read me, (Carmine)?
Carmine: Affirmative, (Ben).I read you.
Ben: Open the (Gate A)doors...
Carmine: I'm afraid I cannot do that, (Ben).

Yaz, I attribute that notion to today's overly PC culture. There are just too many quotable lines in Blazing Saddles not to put it on top, at least on my (granted, sophomoric) scale.

"Baby, please! I am not from Havana."

Can I like Francona and hate CHB at the same time? I guess we're going to find out.
