And I see John Henry's efforts on behalf of the redsox paid off... Actual bricks didnt sell, but now he can sell a different brick at his new in-stadium dispensaries - The Redsox Headshopz. Bad game, no problem! Come see our physicians at all concourses or our main location at the newly renovated section 420.

Jeff - a new reason to get excited about going high & deep at Fenway

Are those guys walking on a treadmill? They don't seem to be moving forward at all.

And here in MD, gay people are considered sort of like actual real people with rights and all that jazz (by a narrow margin, of course).

Gsghetc - when i first read through your post, my brain inserted a different vowel in "jazz". I keep trying to leave the gutter, but i keep showing back up.

Jeff, that would make some weird porn. "Why does that woman have saxophone all over her?"

We are going to find out what it felt like in Germany in 1918. That may be overly pessimistic, but I can easily see us paying $500 for a Beer, and it won't be at Fenway, where that same beer will be $1000! Hang in there, brother/sister serfs!

Serfs up tonight?? ;O

Election sabermetrics called this election quite a while ago. It was amusing listening to the talking heads trying to work the pitch count.

Have so many votes ever changed so little?

Two white guys going nowhere. A parable, a fable, a metaphor. People didn't vote for Barry as much as resist the notion of people trying to crawl up their ass and vagina.
We are all in this together.
In the immortal words of Tom Morello (one of Paul Ryan's faves):
History's not made
By presidents or popes
Or kings or queens or generals
Or CIA kingpins runnin' dope
History's not made
By nine robed men
Or billionaires
It's not made by them
(Chorus)
Black Spartacus Heart Attack Machine x3
Might threw a little money 'round
Wonderin' who can be bought
Some might find they're weaker
Some stronger than they thought
Well I'll stand or fall right here
In my country, in my home
I ain't alone no more
(Chorus)
Hollow box
Steel string
Union made
Let freedom ring
Me and my people are hungry
Me and my people are through
Me and my people are ready
Me and my people are just about due
I'm a massive air strike on a beautiful night
Yeah this is my song I'm singin
Somebody better start countin
We're comin out and we're comin
Out swinging

I assume today's strp and the comments, particular lou's, are some kind of coded metaphor to the effect that the Sawx should sign Tori Hunter. Otherwise, they don't make much sense.
Am I wrong?
Posted by: soxdownunder | 2012.11.07 at 02:15 PM
@sdu. probably not. I am afraid they might sign Tori Spelling by mistake though. She's good "in the clubhouse", I'm told.

//A major league source on Wednesday confirmed a report that the Red Sox will name Juan Nieves pitching coach. Nieves, a former Brewers pitcher, most recently served as bullpen coach for the White Sox since 2008.
CBS Sports baseball insider Jon Heyman had the original report that Nieves would get the job after a long interview with the team. Orioles director of pitching development Rick Peterson had been seen as a leading candidate.
The White Sox bullpen ranked eighth in the American League under Nieves last year, the third time in five seasons that it finished with that ranking in the AL; the team also finished 10th in 2011 and fifth in 2010 in bullpen ERA.//

The Mets just let JBay go, and the Sox need a rightfielder. Anyone else excited?
What? No? No one? Okay, never mind.
Posted by: HunterStars | 2012.11.07 at 03:35 PM
Mr. Springsteen said it very simply at Fenway: "We take care of our own."
Posted by: Paul in DC | 2012.11.07 at 04:13 PM
J-Bay burned more than just bridges when he left. Los Mets must have gotten the hint that their organization is in some difficulty when Mudville changed their MLB affiliation to Toronto 90 miles via the QEW, six hours (on weekends) away. Why six hours? Look at the traffic times on NITEC's website, which monitors bridge traffic @ Niagara Falls, Lewiston/Queenston and Mudville/Fort Dreary (Peace Bridge) No guns or dope, please, so Nat, your bus can't cross the mighty Niagara. Baracq hates Canada, no hope of a more open border for a while, but perhaps we'll have a go like in 1812-15! For non-history students the war of 1812 was a bloody mess, which accomplished nothing that either side wanted to accomplish. We see that in Sox/Mets games every May or June;-)!
