Dead Man Walking
In a group of Soxaholix, a woman speaks:
Well, it looks like Valentine's done.
In a group of Soxaholix, a woman speaks:
Or maybe not.
In a group of Soxaholix, a woman speaks:
No surprise that Cherington would back away from his previous comments.
In a group of Soxaholix, a woman speaks:
Being bold, assertive, and walking with "I'm in charge here, bitches" isn't really in his m.o. is it?
In a group of Soxaholix, a woman speaks:
And we wouldn't want to hurt Bobby Valentine's feelings or anything.
In a group of Soxaholix, a woman speaks:
But here's my two cents...
In a group of Soxaholix, a woman speaks:
If Cherington is going "to spend less time on" the managerial search, let's no skimp on the due diligence either.
In a group of Soxaholix, a woman speaks:
Right, of course, Ted, somebody who is saberemetrically inclined is a must...
In a group of Soxaholix, a woman speaks:
But we also need to screen for candidates who may have slandered the prophet of Islam.
In a group of Soxaholix, a woman speaks:
Because for that guy, well, the future is all kinds of fucked up.
I think they're just going to stay with Valentine as a "placeholder" manager until 2019 when Billy Beane's contract with the A's is up.

Yeah, and I think sticking with failure is kinda the new hot thing these days anyway.

If failure is the hot thing, lets hurry up and get Lackey signed to an extension.

Sticking with Valentine makes no sense from a business perspective. What would you pay to be manager of the Sox for a series? $5000? $50000? Somebody out there would drop a cool 100 grand to manage a Sox-Yanks series, right?
With a different "fan-ager" for each series, the Sox might be able to pull in $2 to $3 million bucks.
Not only is the revenue stream a welcome addition for the ownership, but the Sox would get an upgrade in terms of commanding respect from the players and statistical acumen.

Can't wait for the headline:
"It's a WRAP."
Posted by: SAC | 2012.09.28 at 03:19 PM
I wouldn't pay anything to manage the Sox. If CHB ripped me the next day, I'd be indicted on murder charges soon thereafter.
Have a great weekend all. Hopefully we'll have something fun to yak about on Monday.

BTW, nice one, SAC. That'd be a hell of a headline on the back page of the Herald the day after V gets canned.

Hb, dont be down. The red sox have stunk before and will stink again. And we will still be fans, as you will you, only a matter of degree. By recent comments, you seem politically unsatisfied as well. Dont fret. After this election, we will still have a president that roughly half of the country hates. And we will still be fans of the country. I think our presidentiary is kinda like not changing your underwear so much as turning them inside out. After a few turns, the only thing really noticable is that new wet shit feels warm but smells worse than dry shit. And we change again. Have a great weekend!

I'm going out on a limb here, kids. Remember, you read it here 1st - Lackey is gonna win 15 games next year. *This statement is preceded by much bourbon, but I stand by it.
