We'll be right back after a brief hiatus
Your omniscient author in absentia:
In a world where The Soxaholix take vacation so you don't have to...
We'll be back to normal programming on Tuesday.
And I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that by Tuesday the Red Sox will probably be, er, right around .500.
Enjoy the weekend of our agony.
The bats are flying around, looking for insects to...get the metaphor? This team can't hit it's weight in batshit! Thinking Spinal Tap Drummers for a hundred, Alex.

.500 seems so average. But it isn't, really. The average winning percentage in the AL is .511.

thank you Bob. I now have closure on the week

I think Bobby V. is about to have closure on his tenure with the Sox.

Bob: 'tis a consummation devoutly to be wished. Do you honestly think so? Nothing (Red Sox related) could make me happier. Just put four new tires on the bus so we can better and more definitively run him over on our trip to Last Place.

You should name the bus "Bobby Valentine"...that way he'd already be retired.

Submitted for Natalie's consideration. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/2012/08/firing_bobby_va.html

COD: I appreciate that, but my hatred for Roberto Veet is not rooted in anything logical and I concede that another manager might not have done better. That said, I simply want the man gone; I cannot let go of my gut-level instinct that he's the wrong guy for the job. Which also means management is fucked in the head since they clearly don't agree. The whole organization feels off the rails to me. Blerg. Thank god for the Olympics (despite NBCs horrific broadcasting).

Nat - Here's a little Olympic 'pron' for your viewing and reading pleasure. No NBC coverage required.
Talk about Quadzilla...
