Make way for Yankees

Your omniscient author in absentia:
Like I mentioned in the comments yesterday, got sprung with a very early interview session at work, so need to prep, set up a conference room, boot the projector, boot the teleconference stream blah blah blah...

So I don't have any free time this morning to write

But here's a Camus quote I'll leave you with that seems very appropriate for this creepy site:

"A character is never the author who created him. It is quite likely, however, that an author may be all his characters simultaneously."

Comments

Another fun quote:

Estragon: "What about hanging ourselves?"
Vladimir: "Hmmm. It'd give us an erection."

-- Josh Beckett's "Waiting for 0.500"

H.B.: "simultaneously"

Kaz: "It'd give us an erection"

I can see where today is heading already.

WTF is this:

Meanwhile, I have friends travelling in NYC. I emotionally blackmailed them to go to Yankee stadium for a Red Sox Game. Further, they'll be in Boston next week, going to a Tigers v 'Sox game. Plus, inshallah, Bob's gonna show 'em a good time.

Please., Godot, can the 'Sox please win?

Make sure you ask the applicant how many golf balls can fit in a school bus? You IT people are really over the top.

Depending on how you filter/read your news you could have missed this one. The Skipper is a class act.

SDU, it looks like YardBarker is just parsing the RSS feed.

Rudi, you're right, I wouldn't read the Boston Globe if was the last news org. on earth. Why not just go straight to the DNC's website? :) This reminds me of a story ~5-10 years ago in SI of how Bobby Knight stopped to help a couple who had a flat tire in the pouring rain one random night. Guy unsuccessfully trying to change tire, lights, car pulls up, boom it's Knight, who spent 30 minutes helping the dude.

SDU, I didn't know you were a fellow Arabist. We should rap sometime in that most hideous of languages.

Cool story Rudi. I use this app on the ipad called Skygrid that constantly grabs news from all over the world, dont think it really gives a shit whether the news org is left, right, or correct (its all good for the gumbo) but it does find cool stories. It missed this one though. thanks. nice to see happy news for a change.

Speaking of happy news, it's time for beer cart.

Have a great weekend all. Hopefully we'll have something fun to yak about on Monday.
